As most of you probably know, we are starting 2021 with a change in our Aluminium Technology Solutions mission and a focus on R&D and industrialization of innovative technological projects in close collaboration with our colleagues of Rio Tinto Aluminium sites and activities…

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (industry 4.0) is the ongoing transformation of industry using modern smart technology. Since Rio Tinto Aluminium Pechiney delivered its Smelter 4.0 vision in 2016, significant progress has been made in the field of automation, remote support, mobility and advanced control systems.

When we talk about automated transport, what comes first to mind is a vehicle without a cabin and able to drive itself to carry out its transport missions.

Our strength lies in the synergies we create with our colleagues and partners. Internally, the teams (LRF, Aluval and CRDA) work closely with the smelters of the Rio Tinto group and… the Growth & Innovation group. Externally, we have a network of industrial and academic partners on whom we rely to combine our know-how.

Today there are 3 smelters in 3 continents where ALPSYS V15 is in operation, totalising 1320 cells under management.
Alpsys V15 is not only a new IHM version. New process control functions are enclosed allowing additional features for a more competitive cell control.
